Moving on, here are 4 things you can start doing today to help you with potty training…
If you’re like most parents who are still monitoring their two-year-olds’ pee pees and poops and you’re looking forward to potty training your toddler and save money on diapers in the process… well, who can blame you?
On top of being expensive and messy, diapers may even serve as daycare roadblocks. So, it’s in everyone’s best interest to get the job done sooner rather than later…
And with the right knowledge, it is possible to potty train nearly every child before they reach the age of two.
So here are 4 potty training tips that can help you succeed:

Start Early
Ideally putting your child on the potty sometime between 12 & 18 months is good. This isn’t to get him to do anything but simply to get him used to sitting on it. Two year old kids are often at the “no” stage and often don’t like anything new being introduced into their life without it being a battle.
Think how much money you could save if your child is potty trained at the age of two instead of three… **This free video presentation covers one easy way to get your child out of diapers in just 3 days. **

Start and don’t stop
One of the most confusing things for your child is when you go ahead and make the decision to start potty training on a given date and put diapers back on again after a couple of days - just because you’re tired or you have a busy day. I guarantee you this will put you two steps backwards and will frustrate your child, make potty training much more difficult.

Consistency is King
The biggest potty training blunder is lack of consistency. You’ve got to make sure that whatever age you start, you’ll be consistent in the way you potty train - and this includes the words you use.
Every member of your family and any other adult involved (e.g. daycare staff) in the caring of your child needs to do and say the same things. Therefore, decide before you start how you are going to undertake potty training for your child and once this decision is taken, make sure you stick to it. You can find out more here

Use Praise & Rewards
During potty training, praise and rewards should ALWAYS be used for success, and punishment should NEVER be used for accidents.
Use a potty training chart and let your child choose their own stickers to put on the chart as an incentive to potty training. It’s a good way to praise and reward them.

(EXTRA TIP) When not to start potty training
Never start potty training when there’s going to be a big change or a very exciting time in your child’s life. What may be a little change in your life may appear to be quite large to your child. Going on vacation, Christmas time, moving home or having someone visiting for a few days are all times when it would be advisable not to start potty training your child.
Have you made the decision to start this process with your child or are you just thinking ahead?
Whatever stage you are in, every parent will face this at some point in their child’s life. Approach potty training with confidence and not fear and you will succeed much quicker and with less stress.
